Aldeyjarfoss
Waterfall
Northeastern Region
Description
Aldeyjarfoss is a waterfall located in northern Iceland, known for its unique rock formations and powerful cascading waters. The falls drop 20 meters into a deep, narrow canyon and are surrounded by towering basalt columns, which were formed by ancient volcanic activity. The contrast between the dark rock formations and the white water creates a striking visual display. Due to its remote location, Aldeyjarfoss is less visited than other popular waterfalls in Iceland.
