Description

Englandshverir is a geothermal area located on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwestern Iceland, known for its bubbling hot springs and boiling mud pots. The area is named after a group of British sailors who were scalded by the hot water while attempting to bathe there in the 18th century. Today, visitors can take a short hike around the area to observe the various geothermal features, which include steaming vents, sulfuric mud pots, and colorful mineral deposits.
